Coach Guensler started his coaching career in 1987 as an assistant swim coach for the Sunrise Sharks Swim team. A team he eventually retired from as the longest tenured head coach in the history of that team in 1997. He has held several coaching positions in swimming for 21 years. Hanford High School, Hanford Swim Club, and most recently Woodcreek High School.

Coach Guensler was introduced to coaching Water polo by taking over for his older brother Craig at San Juan High school in 1989. He then started Roseville high school’s program both boys and girls in 1996. He moved to Hanford California in 1997 and led the girl’s varsity team to 4 league titles in 5 years. 28 league wins in a row at one time. He also coached The Hanford Water polo club for 5 years at the same time. He was the co head coach of the area zone team in the central valley for 3 years. He then moved back to the Sacramento area and coached the Rocklin High School boys for 1 year before landing the Head aquatics job at Woodcreek High school. He has coached Water polo and swimming for Woodcreek now for 4 yrs. He is looking to build a program in both boys and girls that is competitive in the Sacramento area year after year.

Coach Guensler believes in the philosophy that hard work, team work and dedication to the program will build a successful program. He demands a lot from his athletes and their family’s and in return he dedicates many hours to shaping our kids futures in a positive way.

Coach Guensler is married to Sabrina and has to wonderful kids, Emma and Ethan. You will see them on the deck at most games.

Coach Jason has been coaching water polo at the varsity level since 2001.

He began as the head coach at Bella Vista High School from 2001 to 2005 and then moved to Woodcreek in 2006. He has also coached swimming since 1999. He was an assistant coach for the Redding swim team in 1999, head men’s swim coach at Bella Vista from 2001 to 2005 and head coach of a summer recreation team from 2000 to 2005 (Sunrise Sharks and Fair Oaks Dolphins).

Jason has played as a goalie in high school and various club teams at the national level for many years and brings his knowledge and enthusiasm of the sport to Woodcreek where he hopes to continue to coach for many years to come.

It is Jason’s goal to be a part of a winning program year in and year out and be a positive influence on the athlete’s lives.
